Titus

39–81

Titus was Roman emperor from AD 79 to 81 and son of Vespasian. Before becoming emperor he commanded in the Jewish War, and his brief reign included the eruption of Vesuvius and the opening of the Colosseum.

In Lindsey Davis’s The Iron Hand of Mars, Titus also wants Falco removed from Rome while he pursues Helena Justina. In Simon Turney’s Domitian, Vespasian’s victory creates the Flavian dynasty, but Domitian remains overshadowed by his father and his elder brother Titus.
