Robin Hood and the Castle of Bones
First published 2021
May 1192. Still travelling home from the Third Crusade, Robin Hood and Alan Dale reach the Duchy of Burgundy and are captured by a renegade knight. Taken across the Saône into the rival County of Burgundy, they enter a conflict of feudal loyalties, murder and competing interests connected to Richard I.
Robin uses negotiation and deception to advance the king’s cause, while Alan becomes committed to rescuing a woman held behind the defences of the Castle of Bones. Their objectives pull the company in different directions as the politics of Burgundy turn a passage home into another private war.
