Robin Hood and the Caliph’s Gold
First published 2020
Autumn 1191. Robin Hood, Alan Dale and their companions leave the Holy Land by sea after the Third Crusade. A storm wrecks them on Crete, where local rulers, pirate chiefs and competing armed groups control the routes by which the survivors might continue towards England.
Robin learns of a hoard known as the Caliph’s Gold and converts the need for transport into an ambitious robbery. Alan must help outwit the island’s powers and protect the company through a campaign involving ships, fortifications and a Moorish force. The interquel follows Holy Warrior and shows Robin returning from crusade with his appetite for risk and wealth undiminished.
