Fire Born

The Fire Born series follows Bjarki Bloodhand and Tor Hildarsdottir through the wars of the late eighth-century north. The Last Berserker and The Saxon Wolf place the siblings inside the resistance to Charlemagne’s conquest of pagan Saxony, where Bjarki’s bear spirit gives him extraordinary power at the risk of permanent battle madness.

The Loki Sword sends them into the Slav lands, King of the North divides them at the legendary Battle of Brávellir, and Blood of the Bear returns them to Widukind’s rebellion. The supplied export omits The Loki Sword, book 3; its numbering gap has therefore been preserved rather than closing the sequence incorrectly.
