After the Battle of Evesham breaks Simon de Montfort’s main army, Gerald Warbow expects the worst of the civil conflict to be over. Instead Lord Edward is ordered to hunt down surviving rebels whose resistance continues in fortified positions and remote districts, making the end of the war more difficult than the decisive battle suggested.
