Templar Novel

The Templar trilogy follows members of the St. Clair family and a secret brotherhood whose history is bound to the rise and destruction of the Knights Templar. Beginning in the aftermath of the First Crusade, the sequence moves through the disasters of Hattin and the Third Crusade before reaching Philip IV’s assault on the order in 1307.

The novels combine crusading warfare, religious politics and conspiracy with the practical problems of preserving men, wealth and knowledge across generations. Their fictional inner order allows Jack Whyte to connect the Templars’ foundation, their military power in the Holy Land and their possible survival in Scotland during the Wars of Independence.
