Robyn Young

Robyn Young is an English author of historical fiction born in Oxford and raised in the Midlands and Devon. She completed a master’s degree in creative writing at the University of Sussex and became a full-time novelist after the success of her debut, Brethren. Published in 2006, it became a bestselling hardback debut and launched a career centred on medieval warfare, religious conflict and the political ambitions of rulers, knights and soldiers. She is a Sunday Times bestselling author whose novels have reached an international readership.

Young’s Brethren trilogy—Brethren, Crusade and Requiem—follows the Knights Templar during the Crusades and the order’s eventual destruction. Her Insurrection trilogy turns to Robert the Bruce, the Scottish Wars of Independence and the struggle for the Scottish crown, while the New World Rising novels begin after the Wars of the Roses and move through the court of Richard III, the rise of Henry Tudor and Renaissance Europe. She also writes contemporary crime fiction under the name Erin Young.
