In 1295, with the mainland Crusader states destroyed, Will Campbell returns to Europe and finds that the Knights Templar have exchanged one war for another. The French king’s need for money and determination to control independent institutions place the Templars in mortal danger, while Will tries to protect both his family and the remaining Brethren. The novel was published in North America as The Fall of the Templars.
