Robin Hood and the Heretic Prince
First published 2025
Spring 1209. A failed robbery in Sherwood forces Robin Hood, Alan Dale and a small band of followers to flee King John and the Sheriff of Nottinghamshire. They travel to the Languedoc, where Pope Innocent III has authorised a crusade against the Cathars and northern French armies are moving into a region known for religious diversity.
Employed by the Count of Toulouse, the Sherwood men help defend Béziers from the crusading host. Robin sees military service and profit; Alan recognises that civilians have been declared legitimate targets by men claiming divine authority. Treachery inside their own company threatens the defence before the crusaders can breach the walls.
