Book
Ghost Sniper
First published 2014
On 6 June 1944, Caje Cole lands in Normandy as Allied forces begin the liberation of France. A hunter from the Appalachian Mountains, he is assigned to use the patience and fieldcraft learned at home against German soldiers concealed in the hedgerows beyond the invasion beaches.
Cole’s principal opponent is Kurt von Stenger, the German marksman known as the Ghost Sniper after his service on the Eastern Front. Their duel develops across the bocage while both armies struggle for roads and villages. Each sniper must anticipate how the other reads the terrain, knowing that a single exposed movement may decide the contest.
