Pacific Sniper

The Pacific Sniper series follows Deacon ‘Deke’ Cole and Patrol Easy through the American campaign against Imperial Japan. Beginning after Pearl Harbor, the sequence moves from island fighting to Leyte, the liberation of the Philippines, the Battle of Manila and the approach to Okinawa. Deke’s skill as an Appalachian marksman is repeatedly tested by Japanese snipers, jungle terrain and close-range urban combat.

The books follow one patrol through an increasingly destructive war rather than treating each campaign as a separate adventure. Prisoner rescues, amphibious landings, naval battles and typhoons broaden the danger beyond sniper duels, while the soldiers confront an enemy command structure that expects resistance to continue even after tactical defeat.
