Regiment Trilogy

The Regiment Trilogy follows Murdoch Mackinder and the Royal Western Dragoon Guards from the South African War to the end of the Second World War. Murdoch inherits a family tradition of command, but modern firepower, industrial war and intimate scandal force him to redefine what service to the regiment requires.

The Command carries his career from the Western Front towards Dunkirk. The Triumph moves him into sabotage and partisan warfare in Yugoslavia while his son fights with armoured forces from North Africa to France. Across the trilogy, the regiment is both a military organisation and a family institution whose mythology survives only by changing.
