Book
Red Sniper
First published 2016
After victory in Europe, American prisoners held by Soviet forces discover that peace has not brought their release. Stalin’s government treats them as political assets and transfers them into the Gulag system, while official diplomacy is unwilling to admit that the men remain in captivity.
Caje Cole joins a small team assembled to recover the prisoners, including the grandson of a United States senator. A Russian-American intelligence operative helps plan the mission, but reaching the camp and escaping across Soviet territory requires the veterans to operate without acknowledgement or support. The rescue marks the transition from wartime alliance to Cold War hostility.
