Anne Neville

1456–1485

Anne Neville was the daughter of Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, and later queen consort of Richard III. Her life was shaped by the Wars of the Roses, first through her Lancastrian marriage to Edward of Westminster and then through her Yorkist marriage to Richard, Duke of Gloucester.

In Sharon Kay Penman’s The Sunne in Splendour, his marriage to Anne Neville, the death of his son and the rise of Henry Tudor lead to Bosworth, where the Yorkist reign and Richard’s life end. In Philippa Gregory’s The Kingmaker’s Daughter, Anne Neville and her sister Isabel are raised as the daughters and potential heirs of Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick.
