Operation Omega

by Hilary Green Book 1 in the Omega Thrillers series.

First published 1984

4.1(123)

A bomb explodes in a London restaurant while former actress Leonora Carr is dining there, followed days later by a car bomb outside Laura Cavendish’s domestic-services agency. Triple S investigators Peter Stone and Nick Marriott report to James Pascoe as the attacks begin to point towards a drug dealer financing terrorist activity. Their investigation draws in the service’s most secretive operative, known only by the codename Omega.

Omega uses her theatrical ability to impersonate Leonora and enter the organisation from inside, while Stone and Marriott struggle to separate professional suspicion from their fascination with her. The operation ends in a siege at a Surrey farmhouse and exposes links reaching towards government. The revised edition was published as Operation Omega; the original 1984 novel was titled A Woman Called Omega.
