Kim Maxwell Thrillers

The Kim Maxwell thrillers follow a Special Operations Executive agent whose capture in France has made her commanders cautious but has not diminished her determination to return to the field. In Operation Lightning Bolt she investigates the murder of an agent at a Hampshire establishment and discovers a hostile network that reaches back into occupied France.

Operation Fortitude moves Kim and her lover Roland into a resistance bistro in 1944, where the death of an SOE organiser opens onto a German plot connected with D-Day deception and King George VI. The series combines closed-circle murder investigation with operational espionage, giving equal weight to Kim’s reasoning, fieldcraft and recovery from the physical and psychological consequences of clandestine war.
