Chaos of the Gods
A violent storm prevents Ulf and his battered companions from escaping Francia after a disastrous raid. Stranded in enemy territory, they become caught between local forces and the wider instability of the divided Carolingian kingdoms. Survival requires uneasy bargains, hard marching and renewed combat while Ulf questions whether fate or human treachery has trapped them. The novel follows the war band through a campaign in which loyalty is tested by hunger, defeat and the promise of escape.
