Book
To Normandy and Beyond
First published 2021
In 1944 the Allied landings transform the Resistance war in France. Alex moves through Normandy and toward Paris as sabotage and intelligence work give way to open combat, ruined towns and encounters with advancing Allied forces.
Liberation does not end the violence. Reprisals against suspected collaborators, private score-settling and the destruction left along the Seine force Alex to ask whether victory can restore the moral boundaries erased by occupation. Survival now requires him to face what he has done as well as the enemy he helped defeat.
