The Last Crusaders: Ivan the Terrible

The third book follows Nicholas Ingoldsby and his companions after the Mediterranean conflicts of the earlier novels. A mission that begins in Tudor diplomatic service leads them through Constantinople and onward to Muscovy, where Ivan the Terrible rules through fear, suspicion and violence. The novel places the travellers between Ottoman pressure, Russian autocracy and the threat of Crimean Tatar attack on Moscow.
