The House of Atreus

The House of Atreus trilogy retells the dynastic violence surrounding Mycenae and the Trojan War through women traditionally judged by male-authored myth. Clytemnestra’s Bind begins with Agamemnon’s seizure of Clytemnestra and follows her attempt to protect her children inside a royal household shaped by inherited bloodshed. Helen’s Judgement then shifts to Helen of Troy, whose flight with Paris becomes the excuse for a war planned and prosecuted by kings.

The second novel also uses Achilles to show the Achaean side of the conflict, setting his bond with Patroclus and pursuit of honour against Helen’s experience inside Troy. Together, the books replace simple categories of monster, adulteress and hero with accounts of coercion, grief, desire and survival in a reconstructed Bronze Age world. The sequence is planned as a trilogy; the announced third novel, Electra’s Fury, is not present in the supplied export and has not been created.
