Heinrich Himmler

1900–1945

Heinrich Himmler was one of the most powerful leaders of Nazi Germany and head of the SS. He played a central role in building the police state, concentration camp system and machinery of genocide during the Holocaust.

Heinrich Himmler also held the offices or ranks of Reichsführer-SS, member of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic, member of the Reichstag of Nazi Germany, and chief of police. Heinrich Himmler was born in Munich and died in Saskatchewan.

Sven Hassel’s Assignment Gestapo presents the arbitrary arrest, interrogation and execution carried out under the police empire associated with Himmler, while Reign of Hell makes that connection explicit even in its original title, Kommando Reichsführer Himmler.
