Traitor’s Blood

England, 1642. Captain Innocent Stryker returns from the wars in the Low Countries scarred, battle-hardened and determined to find Captain Eli Makepeace, the man who nearly killed him. Stryker serves the Royalist cause from loyalty to his comrades rather than devotion to aristocracy, relying on the former actor Lancelot Forrester and the blunt Sergeant Skellen as the country divides between King Charles and Parliament.

When intelligence reveals a spy inside the Royalist establishment, Prince Rupert orders Stryker to capture the traitor before military secrets can be carried to the enemy. The pursuit crosses territory filled with improvised garrisons, marauding soldiers and civilians forced to choose sides. Makepeace is also closing on the quarry, turning the mission into a confrontation between public treason and the private vengeance that brought Stryker home.
