Giles Kristian is a British historical novelist known for action-driven stories set in the Viking Age, the English Civil War and Arthurian Britain. His first major series, the Raven Saga, follows a young warrior adopted by a Viking warband, while the related Rise of Sigurd trilogy recounts the origins of the legendary Norse leader Sigurd. Kristian’s Viking novel God of Vengeance was selected as a Times Book of the Year, and he later co-wrote the bestselling Courtney novel Golden Lion with Wilbur Smith.
His Arthurian sequence begins with Lancelot, continues with Camelot and concludes with Arthur, presenting the legends as brutal, human stories rooted in post-Roman Britain. Kristian has also written The Bleeding Land and Brothers’ Fury, about a family divided by the English Civil War, and the contemporary thriller Where Blood Runs Cold, winner of the 2022 Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. His fiction combines detailed combat, strong character relationships and mythic storytelling with an emphasis on loyalty, vengeance and the struggle for survival.
