The Voyage Home

After Troy's destruction, Cassandra is taken aboard Agamemnon's ship as his enslaved concubine, accompanied by her maid Ritsa. Cassandra foresees the king's death and her own, while Ritsa records the voyage and the danger gathering around them.

At Mycenae, Clytemnestra has spent years preparing revenge for Agamemnon's sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia. The novel brings Cassandra's homeward journey together with Clytemnestra's waiting court, retelling Agamemnon's return through the women who understand the violence on which his victory depends.
