The Meadows of Murder
First published 2026
London, 1383. William, a weaver accused of killing a hated moneylender, bursts into Brother Athelstan’s church seeking sanctuary. A short time later William himself is found dead inside the locked church, leaving Athelstan with an apparently impossible murder and the question of who wanted revenge for a victim almost everyone despised.
The investigation widens when a prominent member of the Fishmongers’ Guild is murdered and an ominous message is left on his body. Further deaths convince Athelstan and Sir John Cranston that they are pursuing a serial killer. Their search eventually leads to the small priory of St Osyth’s, where a concealed history links the present murders to secrets powerful people have worked to keep buried.
