C. F. Dunn is a British author of historical fiction, mystery and suspense whose work combines carefully researched settings with stories of loyalty, betrayal and personal conflict. After studying medieval history, she founded and ran a specialist school for children and young people with dyslexia and autism before becoming a full-time writer. She now lives in South West England, where the region’s historic landscapes and coastline continue to influence her writing.
Dunn began her published fiction career with Mortal Fire, the first novel in The Secret of the Journal series, which blends history, romance and supernatural mystery. She later returned more directly to medieval England with The Tarnished Crown, a series set during the Wars of the Roses. Beginning with Wheel of Fortune and continuing with Sun Ascendant and Degrees of Affinity, the series follows characters whose private loyalties and ambitions become entangled in the dynastic struggle for the English throne.
