A period of uneasy peace in Parthia is disrupted when Pacorus and Gallia are drawn toward a crisis on the empire’s eastern frontier. Pacorus has only a small force available, while larger armies and distant rulers pursue their own plans. The danger is intensified by the possibility that conflict in Media and Armenia could also disturb the fragile accommodation with Rome.
