Blood Sword
Sven Saxon Sword has earned land and a measure of peace, but King Sweyn Forkbeard has larger ambitions. Sweyn intends to seize the English crown and believes Sven and the Dragon Sword can help him do it. Prince Cnut joins the campaign, drawing Sven back into war at a moment when England’s weakness makes invasion increasingly tempting.
The fighting is complicated by divided loyalties among the Danes and by Scottish attempts to exploit the disorder. Sven must judge which oathsworn can still be trusted while protecting the home he thought he had secured. The novel places his private obligations inside the Danish conquest of England, where one king’s ambition can overturn the lives of warriors on both sides of the North Sea.
