Ambrosius

In 427, Rome has abandoned Britain. The former province is now exposed to barbarian invasions. Savage pirates of Hibernia ravage the coast. Marauding Picts sweep down from the North. Worst of all are the dreaded sea-wolves, the Saxons. The Britons are in need of a defender. Ambrosius Aurelianus, the last of the Romans, is poised to lead the resistance. A brave but modest man, whose family were slaughtered by the Saxons, the soldier takes on the mantle of Dux Bellorum, Leader of Battles. Placed in command of Britain's last army, Ambrosius fights to preserve the light of civilisation. Meanwhile the treacherous High King, Vortigern, plots his destruction.
