The Last Night of Troy

After ten years of unsuccessful siege, thirty Greek warriors wait inside a vast wooden horse abandoned before the gates of Troy. Odysseus has designed the deception as the coalition’s final attempt to recover Helen and take the city. While the Trojans celebrate what they believe is victory and the withdrawal of the Greek fleet, the men in the cramped darkness must remain silent through fear, doubt and the possibility that the stratagem will be discovered.

Night turns the famous ruse into an assault as Odysseus and his companions emerge, open the gates and admit the returning army. The novel shifts attention between the concealed Greeks and the royal city about to be destroyed, presenting Menelaus’s pursuit of Helen and Priam’s doomed household within the final hours of the Trojan War. Originally published in Spanish as La última noche de Troya, it retells the fall of Troy through the epic tradition surrounding the wooden horse.
