The Fall of Britannia

In AD 43 the Roman army prepares to invade Britain. Prydain and Cassus, young men from very different backgrounds, enter a training cohort under the violent discipline of the veteran Remus before crossing the Channel with the expedition.

The invasion forces both friends to confront divided origins and loyalties as the legions advance through unfamiliar territory. A concealed connection between them changes the campaign from a first experience of war into a conflict that will shape the rest of the trilogy.
