Pantera’s investigation moves through imperial households, religious factions and the dangerous politics surrounding Nero. When fire overwhelms the city, the question changes from whether Rome can be saved to who planned the disaster and who will be blamed for it, placing the city’s emerging Christian communities in immediate danger. The novel has also been published as The Fire of Rome.
