Oath Bound
First published 2021
After the Battle of Hastings in 1066, Styrkar the Dane escapes wounded from Senlac Hill, where he has seen Harold Godwinson killed and the English army destroyed. As one of the last surviving housecarls of the defeated king, he refuses to accept Norman rule or abandon the oath that bound him to Harold.
Styrkar becomes an outlaw and begins hunting the knights responsible for the conquest, earning the name Red Wolf. A Breton warrior sent to capture him believes that killing the fugitive will bring fame, but the pursuit develops into a contest between men shaped by different ideas of honour, loyalty and legitimate kingship.
