Homeland
First published 2025
By the early 1460s Leon Muller has become one of the most powerful military figures in Hungary, commanding a seasoned force whose reputation reaches far beyond the kingdom. Peace has brought him influence but also jealousy from nobles and rulers who are uneasy with a mercenary captain strong enough to act independently.
A new campaign draws Leon against Vlad Dracula and into the politics surrounding King Matthias Corvinus. Victory does not resolve his position; instead, the consequences push him towards the Swiss homeland he has not seen for years. The novel follows a soldier discovering that military achievement cannot give him a secure place among hereditary rulers. His return west therefore becomes both a political retreat and a personal reckoning with the identity he left behind when he first made his living by the sword.
