Blood of the Cross

In 1270 the remaining Crusader strongholds face renewed attack from the Mamluk sultan Baybars. While defenders await the expedition led by Lord Edward, Krak des Chevaliers becomes the target of a campaign that threatens the wider security of the Crusader states.

In Wales, fourteen-year-old Garyn discovers a family secret that sends him east in search of his brother, revenge and a revered Christian relic. His private quest carries him into the violence surrounding the fortress and the final crusading efforts of the thirteenth century.
