Reefs and Shoals
First published 2012
Alan Lewrie is sent to the Bahamas with authority to form a small squadron and fly a commodore’s broad pendant. His task is to protect British trade by hunting French and Spanish privateers operating around Cuba, Spanish Florida, the Keys and the Florida Straits.
The assignment requires diplomacy with colonial officials and neutral interests as much as force at sea. Old allies and enemies complicate the search, and Lewrie must distinguish legitimate traders from raiders supported by hidden networks before his squadron can close the passages used to attack merchant shipping.
