Book
The Hunt (Valens)
Northern Britain, second century CE. Valens and the unstable Rigonorix travel north after the ordeal at the snowbound fort, assigned to investigate raids on imperial supply movements. What begins as a pursuit of bandits soon reveals organisation and motives beyond ordinary theft.
The pair must follow tracks across difficult terrain while deciding which local officials and soldiers are concealing information. Attacks on the supply system threaten forts along Hadrian’s Wall and could destabilise Roman authority across the province. Valens’s hunt becomes a race to identify the larger plan before frontier suspicion turns into open revolt.
