Triumphs and Tragedies brings together seven short stories set across the Roman Republic and Empire. The stories can be read independently, but together they range from republican competition to imperial administration and frontier violence. Interviews with the authors accompany the fiction, explaining their interest in ancient Rome and the research and craft behind their historical storytelling.
