Calgacus

born c. 1st century

Calgacus was a Caledonian leader mentioned by Tacitus in connection with the Battle of Mons Graupius against Agricola’s Roman army. Although little is independently known about him, Tacitus gives him a famous speech denouncing Roman conquest.
