Vandalic War
533–534 CE
Justinian sent Belisarius against the Vandal kingdom ruled by Gelimer. The expedition landed near Carthage and defeated Vandal forces at Ad Decimum and Tricamarum.
Gelimer surrendered in 534, ending the Vandal monarchy and giving Constantinople control of important North African territories. Resistance and administrative problems continued after the main conquest.
Count Belisarius treats the campaign as a rapid military success made possible by planning, discipline and divisions within the Vandal kingdom.
