Sandra Byrd is a bestselling author of historical fiction, romantic suspense, contemporary novels, children’s books and Christian devotionals. She has published more than fifty books and also works as a developmental editor and writing coach, mentoring authors at different stages of their careers. Her work has received two Christy Award nominations, starred reviews and Best Book selections from Library Journal, a Historical Novel Society Editor’s Choice award and recognition from BookPage and Booklist. Byrd’s fiction commonly combines romance, mystery and Christian faith, with particular attention to women confronting restricted choices, family obligations and questions of personal identity.

Her Tudor Ladies in Waiting series—To Die For, The Secret Keeper and Roses Have Thorns—depicts the courts of Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr and Elizabeth I through the experiences of women close to them, blending fictional protagonists with real Tudor figures and political events. Byrd later turned to nineteenth-century England in the Daughters of Hampshire trilogy: Mist of Midnight, Bride of a Distant Isle and A Lady in Disguise. These Gothic historical romances combine disputed inheritances, mysterious deaths and concealed identities with detailed Victorian settings. Lady of a Thousand Treasures follows a female art valuer and conservator responsible for deciding the fate of an aristocratic collection, while Heirlooms uses connected historical and modern narratives to explore friendship, family secrets and the lasting effects of earlier generations.
