In liberated Paris, Billy Boyle recovers a valuable artwork after a gunfight in Père Lachaise Cemetery. The object appears connected to a network of Nazi sympathisers smuggling stolen art out of France, and evidence suggests that someone inside the British Army’s Phantom communications organisation is assisting them.
Billy follows the conspiracy towards the front just as German forces launch the Battle of the Bulge. The investigation becomes a struggle for survival in the Ardennes, where he must identify the military insider, protect his team and prevent looted works from disappearing amid the confusion of a renewed German offensive.
