Julia Quinn

Julia Quinn is an American author of historical romance best known for her witty, character-driven novels set in Regency England. A graduate of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, she began writing shortly after university while preparing to attend medical school, but abandoned that path when her first novels attracted publishing interest. Quinn became a number-one New York Times bestselling author and was inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame.

Quinn’s most successful work is the Bridgerton series, which follows the marriages and family relationships of eight aristocratic siblings. Beginning with The Duke and I, the books combine romance, social comedy and family drama, with the society columnist Lady Whistledown providing a recurring commentary on the fashionable world. Quinn has also written connected Regency series and collaborated with Shonda Rhimes on Queen Charlotte. The television adaptation of Bridgerton brought her novels to a much wider international readership.
