SAS Shadow Raiders

British scientists and intelligence officers attempt to understand German radar while the technology is changing air defence and bombing. A raid on the coast of occupied France is planned to seize equipment, documents and specialists before German forces can destroy the installation or trap the assault party.

Lewis places the operation within the wider contest over electronic detection, showing how scientific analysis, aerial reconnaissance and commando planning depended on one another. The attackers must complete the seizure and withdraw across the Channel before reinforcements arrive. The book has also appeared as Churchill’s Shadow Raiders.
