The Tudor Trilogy

The Tudor Trilogy follows three generations of women whose proximity to the English crown makes marriage, faith and family matters of state. Firebrand, originally published as Queen’s Gambit, centres on Katherine Parr during the final years of Henry VIII. Sisters of Treason turns to Katherine and Mary Grey after the execution of their sister Lady Jane, while Watch the Lady follows Penelope Devereux through the factional struggles at the end of Elizabeth I’s reign.

Across the sequence, royal blood is both privilege and threat. The novels move from the Henrician Reformation through Mary I’s Catholic restoration to the unsettled succession politics of the late Elizabethan court, showing how queens, noblewomen and their attendants seek private freedom within systems that treat love, pregnancy, religion and marriage as instruments of dynastic power.
