The Affairs of Ashmore Castle
England, 1903. Giles is trying to restore Ashmore Castle’s finances while his pregnant wife Kitty struggles to establish authority in a household still dominated by her formidable mother-in-law. Elsewhere in the family, the younger Tallants pursue unsuitable romances, Richard continues his forbidden relationship with Molly, and Nina’s reckless new friendship places strain on her own marriage. Below stairs, jealousy and ambition intensify after a suicide and a disappearance. The castle’s outward discipline conceals a network of private loyalties, showing how a single crisis can cross the boundaries between family and servants.
