Sins of the Father

Alonzo Consentino has inherited a violent Sicilian and New York criminal legacy, but in 1928 he is trying to protect his children from the life that made his family powerful. The move to America offers the promise of reinvention, yet Prohibition-era New York is already shaped by money, loyalty, intimidation and the pull of the old organisation.

The novel belongs to historical crime fiction rather than conventional military history. Its setting uses the late 1920s, immigrant family pressure, bootlegging wealth and the approaching Great Depression to frame a story about whether a criminal household can escape its own habits before the next generation is drawn into the same violence.
