Poland, September 1939. With Warsaw collapsing under German attack, Captain Alexander de Milja is recruited into the newly forming Polish underground. His first mission is to help move the national gold reserve out of the country aboard a refugee train, an operation in which military discipline must be adapted to disguise, bribery and improvisation.
