Evil in High Places

Munich, 1936. As Bavaria prepares for the Winter Olympics, detective Sebastian Wolff is ordered to find the missing film star Elena Lang. Her relationship with Joseph Goebbels makes the case politically dangerous from the outset and ensures that powerful men expect a rapid, convenient result.

Wolff follows the trail from elite parties and the film world into Munich’s criminal underworld. The investigation exposes the extent to which party influence, intimidation and corruption have displaced ordinary police work, forcing him to decide how far justice can survive inside a state that treats law as an instrument of power.
