Book
A Case of Murdrum
When a Norman earl is killed during a hunt, the murdrum law threatens to punish the surrounding district unless the killer is found. Miles Edwulfson, an English ploughman of noble descent and a former soldier in Wales, is drawn into the investigation after evidence points toward his son Aelred. The novel follows Miles as he moves between English villagers, Norman authority and his own family obligations while trying to prove that the official assumption of English guilt is wrong.
